Melissa has been drawn to and curious about the old rites and ceremonies of our ancestors. From the times when we were in tune with nature and her cycles, when we honoured the earth and her creatures and took only what we needed. When ceremonial ritual was a way of life. A way of marking time and the seasons; celebrating achievements, and honouring milestones such as puberty and elderhood. It was a way of processing grief and anger as well as celebrating birth and death.
Melissa believes our lives are richer for participating in such rites and has been practising them at home, and in circles, for over 20 years. Here Melissa brings a ritual ceremony for peace to Inside Out.
